Everyone has to go through their own Stuff

Beyoncé Knowles once said, “If everything was perfect, you would never learn and you would never grow”.

We all have to go through the mill. We have to go through stuff, issues, challenges, ups and downs. It is real life and living. Efyo chabafye. Efyo life yabafye, otherwise, kuti wakula fye umungulu mungulufye. So that we stop taking life and things for granted.

In some Countries in Southern and Eastern part of Africa, limo tulaba pa relax. Ama Blood Pressure pa normal. In some Asian Countries and American States, things can be very different. Fast paced and you would notice from the way people walk fast, brisk walking going for work, drive fast sometimes in a road rage. They treat almost all matters as if they are genuinely urgent. Tema High Blood Pressure with many people on what they call maintenance prescriptions which medications they have to take daily for the rest of their lives. Bwafya.

But, the fact of the matter is that most other things are not always urgent for some cultural values in Africa. Wedding functions can start 4 hours later than the scheduled time in Africa or if it is arranged by Africans. In other cultures, you would find the ceremony is over and the host mad at you for not showing up in time. Ifwe nipa Easy. We take our time. A 2 hour drink up on Saturday evening may spill over into an early Sunday morning. Lol!

In the Western World, there’s often a strong underlying pressure, from yourself and others, to treat things, occasions, appointments and functions, meeting and social gatherings as urgent and timely. The trouble is, making everything urgent wears you down. Addressing every little issue like it’s a dramatic, life and death matter drains your life of real meaning and joy. Fimo, Bola ni panshi otherwise, mukakwata ifi ma High Blood Pressure ukula shooting above 250/150. Tekanyeni, Chill. It is like driving on highway road, there is little you can do when the traffic lights and road signs indicate stop, slow down and move slowly otherwise you risk a traffic ticket which defeats the very purpose of cruising to go and make $262.00 penalty fee because that is the very same amount you will be fined for violations of beating the red lights. The loss is higher when you consider the gas, time, wear and tear and the insurance risks you have undertaken by one misjudgment.

By all means, tend to the really urgent situations with your full speed and attention. With everything else, try a little patience, with a generous amount of understanding thrown in. Take a moment to take a deep breath. Remind yourself of the distinction between what really matters and what merely stokes everyone’s ego, including yours.

Do you really need to raise your anxiety level just because a delivery takes three days instead of two? Think of all the good, enjoyable, fulfilling activities with which you could replace the worrying and fretting. Soothe your own life, and the lives of others, with a little patience. Give things some time, and enjoy the time you give. Be like an African. Enjoy life. No one comes out of it alive anyway. Bola ni Panshi.

There’s a time in your life where you’re not quite sure where you are. You think everything’s perfect, but it’s not perfect. Then one day you wake up and you can’t quite picture yourself in the situation you’re in. But the secret is, if you can picture yourself doing anything in life, you can do it. – Tom DeLonge

Limo kuichailafye. Ifyakukopa ifi kuti fyakuletelela.

Don’t try to be somebody you’re not because it doesn’t work. If you try to be this perfect person or perfect persona of what you think that somebody should be when they’re involved in public office, it’s just not going to work. Just be yourself, stay true to your core values, and really just stay abreast of the issues. – Ben Quayle
